Paul's Mission Is to Break New Ground
Paul describes his ministry in a way that goes out from Jerusalem and moves to the wider parts of the world. Paul's mission is to break new ground, rather than merely to develop work that has been started by others. He sees himself as one introducing the message of the gospel to those who had not formally heard. For Paul, this gift is more than just a needed financial boost to some needy Christians. It's an expression of unity between Jews and Gentiles in the body of Christ.
