The Importance of Defining the US Military
In her book, Power criticizes Kissinger for being a war criminal. She basically embodies two decades of liberal thought about what to do when the United States no longer faces an existential enemy. The idea was that because everyone agreed on this particular political form, one was able to actually use the US military for humanity and not for politics. After the Cold War, really for the first time in American history, you have an explosion of public discussion about the Holocaust.
