How Do We Know When the Astheroid Hit the Earth?

The asteroid that killed the dinosaurs landed 65 million years ago. It threw up a huge amount of sulphur into the atmosphere, which caused a lot of problems for life on earth. We can see time pass as you dig down deeper into the earth and we see this crater. And it's not just like a big hole in the ground,. It look like a crazy impact. So we're pretty sure hat these two things are a line. But, you know, we never know forsure in science.
