Contributing to Open Source Projects
Python tends to be the language of orchestration. If you're good at Python, it makes you a very efficient data engineer. You can also contribute to open source projects like Spark or TensorFlow. And if your code gets accepted into an open source project, that typically means it's been reviewed by other people and is production grade.
