What Happens When a Toad Goes Away?

i was driving through southern arizona recently, and i saw how much agriculture was going on there. It's somewhat horrifying, given had their water situation. Other things usually move in to fill the niche could be anything from bacterian fungy to larger, interesting preditors,. or other swaths of the soil food web kind of just go away. So, unintended consequences of somebody trying to do good, like it always happens.
