A New Kind of Ice

Water ice is my favorite rock, because it can do so many things and this is yet another wonderful and unexpected thing. These ice's could certainly have contributed to helping life along the way by providing building blocks. And we've slipped into this theme because of the discovery of a completely new kind of ice. This is something never seen before, ground out at 200 degrees below in a lab at University College London. For something so precious I was a bit underwhelmed by the kit used to make it as I stepped through the door with chemist Christoph Salzman. It looks a bit like a photocopier. Well, it's not easier when we switch it on. Is this here?
