The Role of Odor in Mouse Behavior

At Columbia, I studied neural circuits that support the generation of behaviors in response to pheromones. But it really changed the trajectory of my work and it made me really want to combine molecular neurobiology with a kind of systems-y perspective. And at the end of that experience, I decided to switch my lab back to mammals. So I came here to Harvard as an assistant professor and decided to work on the mammalian olfactory system. The long term vision for the lab isreally to unite these two parts of the lab to think about how, you know, mice use their sense of smell to better understand the world through behavior.
