The Church of Massachusetts Bay Colony
roger williams agreed it's wrong to commit adultery, but he didn't believe that the civil authorities should be able to punish you for violating a religious commandment. The church of massachusetts kicked him out of the colony in the middle of winter in Massachusetts and banished him into the wilderness. Guess who took him in, fed him, clothed him, gave hima a warm shelter and helped him survive through the winter, spoke t indians. It was the native americans canes. And then he went on to found the rhode island colony and give religious freedom including two native americans, and saw them as equal in the eyes of god.
