Two black men were arrested on suspicion of trespassing at a Starbucks in Philadelphia. They asked to use the restroom but were denied because they hadn't bought anything. The bigger question here is, would this have happened if the person waiting for the friend was a white woman? Doubtful. When we look into Starbucks' history of this, well, that's when things start to look a little bit more like it's more than just one bad manager. No business is really entirely to blame for the actions of their employees, especially if it was just a fluke. It's their responses and consistency in how they handle discrimination that matters.
