Build a Business, Not an Audience

Last year you wrote a post that was really interesting to me, which was, build a business, not an audience. And this year your main goal and main theme is to learn how to win the great online game, which is closely related to building an audience. So i'm curious how you think about that juxtaposition. It's more like er in terms of serindimity and increasing my lack surface area.
