I taught my first workshop on this stuff back in probably 2003, 2004. Back then I had come across the idea of the golden mean and the Fibonacci sequence. So those things seem to bear so much resemblance to the way that nature works itself out in living organisms. But she's not talking about diversity the way modern man talks about diversity. She's talking about how you can't do a work of art based around one single idea because it turns into propaganda. If you just have this one way of thinking and all of your characters are pushing that same idea, then you don't have any diversity amongst your characters and the whole thing just turns into a work of propaganda.
