The Slowest Transmission of Monetary Policy in the Euro Area
There are many more fixed rate mortgages now in the euro area than there was say you know 15 years ago. The structure of the economy has changed over time so the economy is much more service orientated now and that sector is traditionally less sensitive to interest rates. So I fear that in the case of the euro area there's a risk that everybody has already written off a recession but policy lags are looming in the background.
