Did the President Meet the Moment?

The president was reflecting a lot of what people are feeling. I think he sees that the republicans are somewhat on the defensive, that people are very angry about the utter lack of progress. If you want to be really cynical, you can say that the senate negotiations are going so well that the president got out there with a speech to try toe some credit for it.
