The God of the Old Testament Is the Least Likable Character in Literature

Some of us live with this passive sort of suspicion or resentment when it comes to Scripture. St. Augustine said, if you believe what you like in the Gospels and reject what you don't like, it is not the Gospel you believe but yourself. If we can learn to recognize his voice from the pages of scripture, then we can begin to learn his voice almost everywhere else. And today's teaching is a sequel, it is part two of a two part teaching.
