The S&P 500 Is Not a Buy and Hold Strategy
The return of the S&P 500, as we know, is better than almost any actively managed fund that's been around. From 1975 to 1999 compounded at 17.2%, from 2000 to 2021 it was under 7%. So this $100,000 was not a cakewalk, it didn't come without some effort. There's a great deal of luck in this process, way more than most people, I think, understand.
