Billy Corgan knew pretty much what he wanted on Siamese Dream. There's no way to get inside someone else's head and play exactly what they envisioned. I also don't think that they were as prepared for the record as Billy. It does also feel from the beginning of smashing pumpkins and maybe because there was no other way to survive within this band that James and Darcy don't care.
