Setting Your Heart on Something

In absence makes the heart grow fonder, it reminds you that you really care about those people who are now not in your life. If he was to go away for a week then I would miss him terribly and I think oh I love him so much I must send him a message to remind him how much I love him. To set your heart on something means that you decide something that you want and then you start to have a strong desire for that thing  and you can't think about anything else.
