What Makes Design Good or Bad
The way that design evolves is that something terrible happens and then you do it a different way next time. And he thinks that that's powered really by the fact that the people living in the simple buildings with the simple material culture make everything themselves. So if there's something they don't like about it they can just do it adifferent way. It's important to say that that definition of what makes design good or bad is just for the purposes of this book. We're not going to find that one in later books when we talk about them.
