Is Enlightenment Exotic?

For many years, i think fat for 20 years, i did feel that enlightenment was at was exotic, extraordinary. I thought india and china and japan and tibet are exotic cultures, cultures at least from a european perspective. Therefore, there must be something exotic and extraordinary about enlightenment.
