Every good manager i've ever met has always insisted on weekly, or by weekly, meetings with all their technical staff. The motivation is that you tell the manager this is a way to get ahead of problems before they become crises. You can also let them know what's going on with you. What have you accomplished? And wea start off with, what did you do this week? and let's talk about issues in the middle. It's absolutly critical to the relationship.
