Plato's Philosophy

i want you to take away from this, fora into book five, is this idea writ that if you really are going to be rationalist and nothing else,you ultimately end up a monster. And real philosophy means ascending beyond the flesh and seeing the good, the true, the beautiful in and of itself. To abstract yourself into just what you can think your way through. That's kind of the antidote, in some ways, to some of the platonic excesses that we've been talking about to day.
