The Benefits of a Global Peer-to-Peer Network

Every person that has a socket powered app on their device is automatically participating in this global peer-to-peer network. All these packets are encrypted, so it's not like your private data is coming to my device and then I can snoop on it. But one of the reasons why that network is beneficial for discovery is that everybody can see who a packet was destined for but not who sent it. So by watching packets as they go through, you see the public keys of people that you might want to communicate with.
