The Tongjia Emperor Is Not a Good Student

The Tongjia emperor really is not a very good student, at least that's the sense you get from the sources that you're using. The first are memorials by basically all of his tutors, complaining about each other. But within those complaints, you get a large sense that in none of the sessions was he sort of particularly attentive or particularly stellar in his performance. A diary of one of the main tutors, Wuntongkala, who is tutored to both Tungia and then to Guangxiu will play a major role in this book.
