The Problems With Leadership
The number one issue that I see with leadership is that people get promoted, get asked to be in positions of leadership because of their technical skill. Many people don't get that memo and it's not entirely their fault, right? Like nobody told them when they promoted them, this is going to be your role now. So there's this big moment of, oh, shoot, okay. So now my role is what? And having to basically go to learn from scratch something that you haven't focused on at all up until this point probably. Is that coachable? Absolutely. As long as the person is open and coachable themselves, and that's really key, not everyone is.
