Do You See Any Alternatives to Foundational Models in the AI World?
I think it's kind of a necessary evil to have foundational models, you know, what by that name or otherwise. I've benefited a lot in my own work from from this trend. It does come with risks though. For the most part, local languages, minority languages are left out of NLP world. And then that's a real problem in terms of their own sort of flourishing in the digital sphere.
