The Future of Phosphorus

We use 16 times as much phosphorus to produce a gram of meat protein than plant protein. We can add supplements to animal diet, which helps to balance the amount of phosphorus that they excrete. You can develop genetically modified crops that are more efficient at using nutrients or have a lower nutrient need. And then there's also things that we can do within the landscape in terms of the way in which we farm. It is part of the problem that it's just quite cheap.
