The Negative Consequences of the Sexual Revolution

In 1980, Time Magazine published a cover article titled herpes, the new sexual leprosy. They ran another cover story in 1982 calling herpes the new scarlet letter. Conservatives began to use HSV as an example of the negative consequences of the sexual revolution. And they started using words like sufferers and victims around this same time.
