The Limits of the Reductionist Story
There's a limit to how far that reductionistic story extends in terms of explaining everything that happens. We have empirical strong empirical grounds for are that all of reality is constituted by a relatively sparse base of fundamental elements whose nature is still not fully nailed down yet. Particle physics is still an ongoing operation, but these these processes are ubiquitous. The same processes are also going on and living biological systems and every other kind of material structure that we see around us. They are sufficient in principle, whether they fully capture everything, that's always going to be an open question. And I just want to say it's always an open question when we look at any kind of interestingly organized macroscopic structure
