Sagan: We are vulnerable to this siren song which we can call chauvinism or geocentrism or and focoscentrismYeah right on Carl I want I really like that because there's a bunch of stuff that he combines which are I think quite intuitively combined but maybe not so commonly that you hear together in the current climate. He highlights the social nature of science and that scientists are also subject to biases and prejudices. Sagan argues that ethnicity gender nationality are not these super important indicators that we should attach such meaning to and gives the example of sneezing as just a it's just a conventionso why would we be proud of that?
