The Black Middle Class in America

In 18 65, there was this effort from congress to finally allow land to be designated for h b c u. And black people, wanting to start and run their own colleges, began to build institutions. What ends up happening is a black middle class begins to emerge. Some of the very first h b c us were clark, atlanta, shaw, fisk, howard. I remember walking on tha campus ind just feeling like wemis vill sop missus vills.
