Did You Pay Attention to the World Cup?

I've been a football fan for basically my entire life. And I did not know basically any of the history of football. It was like just one guy in America, right? He just changed a bunch of rules and he just created American football. Which I didn't know. But it all makes more sense to me now where it's like it's called football because some people in America were playing actual football. Some people were playing something that was closer to rugby,. Brought over by British people to America. And so then they just combined them. And for some reason kept the wrong name.
