Songwriting Techniques

No can do was written all at one shot. That's as close as i've come to being on one man band. If i don't have a complete lyric, which i hardly ever do, i just sing whatever comes to my head that allows the phrasing and the melody to just come together without having to think about tying it to words. Then i create the words sort of around that. It's like solving a puzzle.
