Venture Debt: A Question Mark

Venture capitalists in the West tend to look down upon venture debt and discourage their investing companies from taking on venture debt. In India, especially over the last 10 years, five years or so, we've seen the rise of venture debt. Do you have any views on venture debt? I don't, honestly. A startup does not have the cash flow to fund debt. So if you are a loss-making company, which is also paying interest to prevent equity dilution to be not reduced, I don't know if it's always a good choice or not.
