We're still in the infancy of understanding metabolism ande senescence, because it may be different in different cell types. In normal celves, sinescence is more or less associated with an energy deficit. But those senescent cells still have to produce an awful lot of protein due to their secretory penotype. And that production of the ile six is also almost contagious, because ile 6 is the inflammatory meteator that is secreted. So it's almost like an infectious disease where cenescence spreads from one part of the body to the other based on the secretion of ile six.
