The Mockery of Jesus Christ
The mockery focuses upon jesus claim to be the christ and his supposed identity as a failed saviour. Jesus is then marked by the rulers, the soldiers and even one of the criminals, crucified alongside him. Once again, the prophetic words of scripture are lying in the background. In the mockery, we might hear the words of psalm 22 being fulfilled again, this time from verses seven eight. All who see me mock me. They make mouths at me. They wag their heads. If they reject the message of the church, only certain judgment will await them.
