Exclusive Scan Is More Coherent Than the Inclusive Scan Algorithm
Exclusive scan in my opinion is just broken it's supposed to be the pre-scan algorithm so if you have a iota sequence from one to five and you do a exclusive scan zero on that one to five sequence it'll give you you know zero one three etc. then just kill off the last value. I consider this like a broken algorithm that shouldn't even be in the mix because i've confused people but let's well no actually i think um i think it's possibly more coherent than the inclusive scan what you really want in a lot of cases is this exclusive scan plus the final result from reduction.
