How to Grant Access to Trusted Admins in WordPress

There's different types of roles in WordPress. Is it editor that we're giving access to through trusted admin or is it even some sort of specific thing? My default, we have it be that the developer themselves chooses what the role will be for login access. I think there's been a number of times where I'm unmested on chatting with a friend and then I'll get a DM from someone who I trust saying they can fix my problem.
