Small banks in the late 80s, early 90s had assets collectively of $500 billion. The lesson we're learning Silicon Valley bank just happened to be one of the biggest banks. That's these small banks have become too big. And what comes out of this is a focus on preserving balance sheets at the expense of net new lending for an economy built on credit.
