The Importance of Latino Culture in Los Angeles
There are many first and second generation Americans in Los Angeles from all over the world, but certainly from Mexico and Central America. I had a conversation with Al-Majagal one time stand up comic who's he's half Mexican American, half Italian American. He doesn't speak any Spanish at all. And like, he's been in a lot of situations in comedy where there is an expectation that he is either going to belike an intensely Mexican American comedian or he's going to be like a righteous Chicano comedian. It just blew my mind.
