What Is Nationalism?

A lot of the Canadian press, I do think, is quite sort of nationalistic. It really reached a peak during COVID in which there was just so many of these very tendentious stories that were about Canada and its people. So it kind of makes me wonder like is there an appropriate kind of like middle ground that you can find here? Like is itappropriate for the press to be to some degree defensive of the country? To some degree put a positive spin as opposed to just always a negative spin.
