Is Pain the One Thing That We Can't Habituate?
There are some layers there because what you then are dealing with is the role of attention and expectation. That can be used to turn down how much you attend to the nociceptive signal. So for example, we've all probably interacted with clients and patients who feel pain before they're even touched. And they pull away and they have a response. There isn't anything abnormal about that. It just means that they've learned very effectively that pain is a threat...that's a great learner Absolutely.
