The AHA's Reach to Multiple Publics
AHA has engaged in robust advocacy work, extending its reach to multiple publics. The AHA regularly denounces threats to academic freedom as well as measures designed to deny historians access to records and archives. In 2020, the AHA statement on the history of racist violence prompted by the murder of George Floyd garnered the support of 97 scholarly groups representing many different subfields of history.
