Jerry Falwell was not a big fan of the Supreme Court. He'd been pissed at in 1962 when they ruled on Inkel vs. Vitale, which decided it was unconstitutional for schools to force students to pray. For Falwell and many other evangelical Christian extremists, Roe v Wade was a wake-up call. The 1973 decision legalizing abortion on demand did more to destroy our nation than any other decision made by the Supreme Court that year.
