The Thalamic Specific Nucleus Is Activated in Consciousness

The thalamic articular nucleus plays a critical role in which thoughts are allowed to pass up to our conscious perception and which ones are not. Some neuro scientists, and indeed some nero philosophers, have theorized that the thalamic particular nucleus is acta involved in our consciousness. In o c d we have a cortex, or neo cortex, which is involved in perception and understanding of what's happening. We have the striatum and basil ganglia, which volved in generating behaviors go and suppressing behaviors no go. And we have the thalamus, which collects all our sensory experience in parallel, hearing, touch, smell, et cetera.
