In post-COVID environment, people on the left have been talking about how fragile globalization is. Food forests made a lot of sense to me because food is a very basic need and also something that's relatively easy to supply. I mean, highway departments alone own enough land to feed tons and tons of people. We already know food forests work. That seemed like kind of a gimme.
