German police raided the home of a businessman named Adolf Jackal in 1994. Authorities believed that Jackal was counterfeiting Deutschmarks, but what they found instead on their raid was a lead canister labeled KT-120-009-001-1980. Russian records suggest chemical companies all around Europe, Asia and the Americas were buying red mercury.
