How Does the Bitcoin Standard Contain Our Collective Sacrifice?

The idea of money emerges from the first place and how are we constituting our relationship with that idea such that it brings about the benefit. We all implicitly agree to sacrifice ourselves to it, i.e., give away our time and energy in order to receive that thing. In proportion to how many other people also agree to establish that type of relationship with it, it derives ever greater benefit. But can it can it contain our collective sacrifice at each, you know, at whatever scale? And what are the different ways that it can be corrupted?
