How Does the Snowpack of the Colorado River Change?

Mackenzie Schiles is an assistant professor in the Geography Department at the University of Utah. She's a snow hydrologist who spends a lot of time skiing into remote mountain basins where she digs snow pits to collect data. In headwaters communities, the snow pack in the mountains acts as a natural reservoir. It's how we've made the whole system of the Colorado River work.
