The Benefits of an MLM Approach to Growth

There are some things that an MLM approach, I think can probably handle a little bit better than an SEM approach to growth. It's hard to make a laundry list of things that MLM can do, but that the SEM can't. The whole point of routing bush and bright is let's say you're interested in the relation between grit and math achievement. If we move that to repeated measures within kids, that dependent variable is not a single math score. So now you have a starting point per child and you have a rate of change.
