Speaking of Psychology
You and Your Adult Child
In his new book You and Your Adult Child, psychologist David Perry addresses the increasingly common situation when an adult child moves back home. He says both parents and young people approach this with some trepidation but there are opportunities for a lot of positive development from moving back home. The key really is to have a conversation about what everybody's expectations are because it's a new situation neither the parents nor the child want to fall into the old dynamics that characterized their relationship when they were homeless teenagers.
